Bennett Thrasher is one fastest public accounting firms in the US and riding a decade of double-digit organic growth.  Our firm delivers exceptional advisory, audit and tax services to companies across the middle market spectrum.

Based in our Atlanta headquarter office and reporting directly to our Chief Growth & Strategy officer, we are seeking results-driven Business Development Director or Managing Director with a proven track record in selling public accounting services. As a self-starter, you will identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and promote our comprehensive suite of services. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a passion for client success, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and lead generation to grow the firm’s client portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, understanding their needs and align our services to provide tailored solutions.
  • Promote and sell public accounting services, including tax planning and compliance, audit, assurance, and advisory services (M&A, Fraud & Forensics, and Valuation), to businesses and individuals.
  • Collaborate with internal Partners to develop compelling proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential target markets to inform business development strategies.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs, tracking progress and reporting on business development activities to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities using CRM software.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry regulations to effectively communicate value to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in business development or sales, with a focus on public accounting or professional services.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling accounting, tax, or financial services and meeting/exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of public accounting services, including tax, audit, and advisory offerings.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software – HubSpot experience is a bonus and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and compliance requirements in public accounting is a plus.
  • Existing network of business contacts or clients in [insert relevant industries or "relevant industries"] is highly desirable.
