The Branch Administrator is responsible for providing high quality service and administrative support for branch leadership and inside and outside sales staff and supporting a strong service connection between warehouse operations and operation management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but are not limited to:

  • Receive all products from vendors (Roofing, Siding, Millwork etc.) Correct any variances on receiving shortages.
  • Scanning all RMA, Vendor Packing List, PO Check in List, Drivers Time Slips and Signed Walk in Tickets.
  • Cash Drawer Balancing including balancing the cash drawer (Cash, Checks and Credit Cards); scanning into Worldview; making daily bank deposits and regular bank runs; and coordinate activity with corporate accounting staff. 
  • Pick up mail from Post Office and distribute to departments and take out-going mail to the Post Office. Distribute internal mail received and sent via the route truck.
  • Customer assistance in person and on phones assisting with service items; direct customer contact; assisting with special order pick-up or deliveries; customer balance inquiries and calculating cost per job; receives and applies payment to customer accounts.
  • Route Truck coordination including product returns to branches; Route Truck add-ons from other branches; and researching and resolving any discrepancies with the route truck materials.
  • Handling customer credits including processing RMAs that are picked up with our truck; RMAs dropped off by customers; verifying that the product was purchased from Erie Materials; research for correct pricing; and ensuring the materials it is returned to the branch it was purchased from. 
  • Sales support including adding product to existing orders and releasing orders for delivery is response to customer inquiries; assisting warehouse staff when ticket needs to be un-staged.  
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory control.
  • Other projects and assignments as needed.

Requirements

DRUG TESTING REQUIREMENT:

All applicants must submit to a pre-employment drug screening at the time of an expressed contingent offer of employment. The contingent offer of employment will be contingent upon receiving a negative drug test result. In addition, all those hired will be subject to additional drug and alcohol testing as outlined by The Erie Materials, Inc. Substance Free Workplace Policy.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills
  • Must possess high initiative and the ability to work with limited supervision, take direction from and work with multiple individuals and a high interest in doing thorough accurate
  • Must be proficient on Microsoft suite of Office products and experienced with database systems. Experience with OnBase, WorldView and Agility software programs is desirable.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-3 years of related work experience and/or training in professional office environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and other employees.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as job specifications and product manuals.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with or without the use of a calculator.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is

frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The

employee is also required to frequently use a computer, keyboard & mouse; phone; a printer/fax/scanner/copier;

additional office equipment; and filing cabinets. The employee is occasionally required to climb up and down stairs; occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs; and frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of roofing, siding and millwork is preferred.

Basic Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook computer skills is preferred.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

TRAVEL:

This position requires minimal travel to training events, customer events, and trade shows, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside a heated and air conditioned sales office building. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to low.
