Student Worker - Digital Marketing & Communications Intern

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
- Collaborate in a creative team environment to understand the Ohio Wesleyan brand, audiences, and implementation strategy
- Learn how to audit/update owu.edu content and develop new content for partner websites and digital communications
- Strengthen writing, design, and content management skills in OWU marketing efforts for various audiences
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Create and update web pages in BigTree CMS (training provided)
- Learning OWU brand standards and assisting the Marketing & Communications team with implementation
- Develop expertise in creative project management tools and best practices
- Assist in managing the Marketing & Communications photo archive, including sorting and keywording to improve search capabilities and color-correcting photos
Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Eye for website layout and design
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud software proficiency preferred
Potential Future Career Benefit:
This internship will benefit anyone interested in a communications or marketing field, such as digital design, graphic design, content development, journalism, and brand management. The student will obtain marketable experience in writing for the web and digital content management/design. The student will leave the internship with a portfolio of work to aid in their overall job readiness.
