Commissioning Manager

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Location: Austin, Las Vegas, Anaheim

Salary Range: $130,000-$170,000

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Oversees the implementation and management of the company and project specific requirements to ensure proper execution of project commissioning in accordance with applicable industry and project specific standards and specifications.

  • Provides operational oversight of assigned project commissioning, working with project teams through entire project lifecycle; planning, preconstruction, construction, acceptance and turnover, to ensure appropriate integration and execution of commissioning requirements.

  • Develops project specific commissioning plans & schedules to ensure alignment of necessary reviews and verification of design/submittals, installation quality control inspection reports, pre-functional testing, and associated start-up procedures to ensure project is ready for commissioning.

  • Directs the workload, professional development, and client development skills of the Commissioning staff.

  • Establishes and implements all testing and commissioning documentation, and record keeping supporting the close-out and final turnover to operations and maintenance.

  • Provides commissioning technical expertise and reviews for Estimating/Bidding through award and execution of construction contracts, and subsequent preconstruction and procurement efforts to ensure full integration of commissioning requirements and associated project controls tracking.

  • Validates and holds accountable the system installation and performance efforts meet contractual and design requirements.

  • Develops associated program surveillance plan to ensure implemented procedures are followed and achieve satisfactory results, to include reporting on applicable performance indicators and non-conformance/corrective actions tracking.

  • Coordinates Integrated Systems Functional and Acceptance testing, creates and supervise the generation of necessary reports and documentation that the installation and performance of the project systems meet the design and specification requirements.

  • Supports factory inspection request and walks with third-party inspection teams to ensure all inspections and testing is complete, approved, and documented.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills

  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures

  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Autodesk Cloud and BIM  preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in quality assurance and/or testing and commissioning, preferably in electrical/utility scale  construction.

  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and testing methods required

  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience

TRAVEL:

30% Travel to project sites

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment – sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted in both indoor office settings and outdoor construction job site settings. Environmental conditions will vary

  • Noise level varies based on location

  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Pay Range

$144,500.00-$189,700.00 Annual
