As part of a larger organization engaged in multi-family and commercial property management, and with professionals who are also clients, the agency offers integrated solutions designed for specific requirements.
Position Overview: The Claims Manager oversees corporate-level claims risk related to properties managed by the company. Provide strategic guidance and coordinating with leadership to resolve business and project risks through contractual, legal, and financial solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage litigation and claims based on personal injury, property damage, breach of contract and other theories of relief, including reporting and communication with claims adjusters.
- Oversee the investigation of insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation and evidence gathering. Track all claims for timely closure and partner with management to mitigate.
- Verify coverage and authorize payments to policy holders.
- Identifying potential risks associated with claims and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide excellent customer service to policyholders throughout the claims process.
- Review and provide reserve recommendations to ensure appropriate financial reserves are maintained for claims.
- Overseeing litigated claims and work with legal counsel as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry risks (property management & construction).
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Provide reports to senior management on claim status, trends and performance metrics.
- Validate vendor insurance compliance through vendor credentialing as required.
Experience Required: Candidates for this position must possess prior experience in property or casualty insurance and experience in real estate or property management. Preferably 5+ years of experience as a claims manager. Strong knowledge of insurance as it applies to construction including CIPs and builders risk. Strong understanding of construction processes, project management and risk management principles. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer service. Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary, and knowledge of applied systems (especially EPIC) is beneficial. The role involves handling multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism. In person presence is required for this position.

The compensation for this position is between $100,000-$150,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
