Hours/Schedule
Monday - Friday
- 10:30 AM to 7:00PM
- Hours are subject to change per department needs
Saturday - Sunday
- 6:00AM to 2:30PM every 5-6 weekends
Holiday
- 6:00AM to 2:30PM
- One holiday a year is required
Position Objective
The Sterile Processing Technician performs sterilization, assembly, and storage or medical supplies and equipment. They maintain recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilization of surgical instruments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform biological and chemical monitoring in accordance with quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner
- Perform service-specific responsibilities: including collaboration with Surgical Services Support Manager and Director of Surgical Services to provide services specific to instrumentation, supplies, and equipment
- Must be willing to take on lead role responsibilities within 6 months, if working the Flex Position
Other Responsibilities
- Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to stand/walk a majority of the day
- Maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures as they relate to the cleaning, sterilization, and distribution of trays to all the units of the hospital
