Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.

Department Description

The Department of Criminal Justice is for students seeking a pre-law major, graduate school in a related field, or a career in one of the many fields related to justice such as investigations, emergency, social services, courts, policing, homeland security, counter-terrorism, juvenile counseling, adult probation/parole, forensics, corporate security, and much more. As a student employee, you will gain computer and communication skills and learn to work independently.

Job Description

Support the Criminal Justice faculty and staff through administrative tasks and projects including but not limited to handling our Social Media news.

Job Location/ Hours Required

The candidate will perform most/all job duties in the Criminal Justice office in College Village. Hours may vary depending on the job requirements; however, the total number of hours a student employee may work per week max is 20 hours. This position requires a minimum of 6-8 hours per week, with a maximum of 12 hours.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist students and guests who visit the department
• Assist faculty with administrative duties
• Manage social media for the department
• Maintain applicable information around the crime lab
• Run campus errands as requested
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills, and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills:

• Must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) & social media platforms
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to follow instructions and help with any task
• Must be courteous and dependable
