Summary

While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision, and values this key position is crucial in supporting the administrative operations of Star Valley Health. This position provides support to the Administration Team and the department directors of SV Health. It is also a key position responsible for the seamless patient entry into the hospital in a timely, efficient, and customer-focused manner. This position will often be the first contact the patient has with the hospital, and the employee will be entrusted with the responsibility of providing a positive first image to the patient/family. General duties include but are not limited to assisting with corresponding, creating presentations, assistance with travel expenses for the facility, supporting department directors as necessary, and taking minutes during meetings and customer interaction. This is an ‘at will” position.

Job Duties

  • Cordially greeting external and internal customers                              
  • Assisting patients and their families into and out of the hospital
  • Answering questions and giving directions to patients and their families in a positive manner
  • Assisting administrators by performing secretarial and general clerical duties
  • Answers telephone, interviews and screen office callers, and makes appointments
  • Composes routine correspondence, agenda, memoranda, and typical statistical reports
  • Keeping wheelchairs in the lobby ready to assist customers as well as keeping the lobby in a well-kept manner
  • Keeping a watchful eye to the immediate needs of the hospital inside and outside in the parking lot
  • Handle confidential and proprietary information daily
  • Assist with events on and off the main SV Health campus
  • Assisting in the monthly ‘Call Schedule’ of the organization
  • Coordinate All Policies of the organization and assist all Department Directors, as needed
  • Preparing and ensuring proper paperwork is filled out and signed by the appropriate parties in travel expenses
  • Working with the fleet supervisor in ensuring all vehicles are properly insured and licensed
  • Facilities Management assistance through record keeping software
  • Assist in entering Policies and Procedures into the Intranet site, per Department Director requests
  • Assist in occasionally working at the ER Registration desk as needs arise
  • Work closely with members of Administration on other duties as assigned
  • Perform other duties as needs arise and assigned

Abilities & Skills:

  • Demonstrate professional oral and written communication with the ability to exercise proper judgment and decision making
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing direction upon request and needs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher; general Internet capabilities
  • Skillful in file system creation and corporate file maintenance along with general office equipment
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors, and staff
  • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client, staff and organization matters
  • Excellent organization and prioritization aptitude
  • Constant sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, computer utilization throughout the day. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds or more regularly

Experience & Education:

  • Associates degree in a related field of work or two or more years general office experience
  • High School graduate or GED equivalent
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to travel on work assignments
