E-Commerce Supervisor

About the Role:

The E-Commerce Supervisor is responsible for all E-commerce departments. This role is also responsible for achieving department and organizational objectives for exceptional customer service.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify and value suitable merchandise
  • List auctions with images and detailed descriptions to maximize value
  • Prepare monthly updates on items needed for internal auctions
  • Maintain a daily tracking board for E-commerce listings, including sold items and sale amounts
  • Motivate the team by tracking sales ratios and total dollar amounts
  • Establish departmental standards and ensure staff accountability
  • Foster a team-oriented environment
  • Assist with hiring and training staff
  • Provide customer service and maintain communication with internal and external customers
  • Follow up on non-paying customers and process refunds
  • Track sales organization-wide and by store
  • Ensure auction sale premises are clean
  • Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Promote safety culture by reporting potential hazards or accidents
  • Contribute to team goals by achieving related results
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Possess strong internet research skills
  • Exhibit capability to learn new technology and software relevant to the role
  • Organize, sort, categorize, count, and perform basic arithmetic
  • Utilize problem-solving abilities
  • Communicate effectively with the public
  • Display strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Maintain accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Responsible for key control and ensuring secure access to the workspace by authorized personnel only
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including arming and disarming the store’s alarm/security system
     
     

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The position entails supervisory responsibilities aligned with Goodwill’s policies and legal requirements. Key duties include recruiting, training, and evaluating staff; assigning work; monitoring performance; managing employee rewards and discipline; and resolving complaints. Collaboration with People Relations is also part of the role, as necessary.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalency
  • Minimum 1 year of E-Commerce experience preferably with auctions.
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide good customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results.

 

Physical Abilities:

  • Climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and seeing.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequent pushing/Pulling up to 100 lbs.

 

Work Environment:

Warehouse and retail store environment, temperature varies, exposure to dust.
