Job Summary

ASCP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support a short-term project centered on Employee Climate and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Focus Groups. This opportunity is ideal for students, recent graduates, or independent contractors looking to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting. The role involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating focus group sessions to help assess employee sentiment and workplace culture, with the goal of improving engagement and inclusivity.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of employee focus group sessions.
  • Help draft, review, and improve focus group discussion guides.
  • Support or co-facilitate focus groups to ensure open and respectful dialogue.
  • Take detailed notes and summarize key takeaways and recurring themes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and support a psychologically safe space for participants.
  • Analyze qualitative data and help compile findings into user-friendly reports.
  • Present recommendations and insights to HR and DEI teams.
  • Assist in additional DEI or employee engagement projects as needed.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active listening and the ability to support group facilitation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive or confidential information with professionalism.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar productivity tools.

 

Education/Experience

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral program in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, Communications, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience with focus groups, employee engagement initiatives, or DEI-related work (academic or professional) is preferred but not required.
