Job Summary:
Processes invoices from health care providers and clinics according to internal and external contracts. Assists health care providers with submitting invoices in accordance with the appropriate contract. Answers inquiries regarding invoicing and payments as well as contracts and fee codes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Processes invoices for medical services in accordance with internal and external contracts. This includes but is not limited to reviewing corresponding medical and claim information as well as validating that the service provided is approved.
Communicates with health care providers, clinics, internal staff, hospitals, billing clerks, etc., to obtain additional information regarding invoices and payment information.
Answers health care provider and internal staff questions through an inquiry line.
Notifies health care providers of overpayments including payment options.
Assists with training co-workers on Medical Accounts processes and contracts.
Reviews health care provider accounts to determine appropriateness of billing, provides results of the review internally and externally, adjusts accounts and notifies the health care provider.
Develops and updates Process Standard Work and Training Manuals as well as other documentation as required.
Participates in all aspects of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) and the Daily Management System (DMS).
Qualifications:
One (1) year successfully completed post-secondary education in business or health care.
Over one (1) year and up to and including two (2) years successful experience demonstrating the ability to do the following:
Making decisions in accordance with contracts, policies and procedures.
Processing invoices with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Understanding medical terminology.
Working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.
Experience with software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
