This position will be responsible for providing technical support, customer application analysis, reverse engineering, and order processing support in the service center.This position will report to the Service Center Manager, with support from Cone Drive.  This position will be a key support for the service center and will be responsible for coordinating the efforts in support of the customer requirements and company interest from RFQ to shipment and in aftermarket.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide technical support and leadership for projects within the service center
  • Perform failure analysis on received products and provide judgement on replacement, re-use or repair.
  • Produce detailed drawings for parts and components to be reverse engineered or replaced.
  • Using technical acumen, reverse engineering, and available resources, identify opportunities to advance the company's designs to exceed the customers' expectations.
  • Interface with sales, customers, supply chain, and other engineering resources to ensure that customer technical requirements for orders are clearly understood and within the scope and capability of the company to deliver profitably.
  • Conduct Faro Inspection and setting the gear set pattern for the service center and its customers
  • Supports outside sales staff as required for customer visits and negotiations in support of quotes and order delivery.
  • Travel will be predominantly within the home region to visit customer sites.  

 

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a focus in Manufacturing
  • 7-10 yrs of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on mfg and and project management work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and organization skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong written/verbal/presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills: Outlook, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Solid Edge CAD
  • Experience in failure mode assessment of rotating machinery and gear boxes.


Preferred:

  • Customer interface experience, including negotiations and technical support in an engineering capacity.
  • Previous success in the implementation of continuous improvement measures.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen practices.
  • Previous project management responsibility and success
