Position Summary
The HR Generalist II plays a vital role in supporting the operational and business goals of Bulk Handling Systems (BHS). Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, this position is responsible for administration of HR operations in the areas of HRIS, benefits, leave management, compliance, and associated systems and portals.
The HR Generalist II will work as part of the HR Team to serve as a key resource for employees and managers, ensuring that employee data is accurate and company benefits and policies are communicated and utilized effectively. HR team members collaborate and participate on both operational and consultative projects and programs which improve employee engagement and company results.
Key Responsibilities
HRIS Data Management
- Maintain accurate employee records in ADP and Kronos
- Track and process PTO, leaves, and employee data changes
- Produce HRIS reports, both recurring standard and special requests
- Participate in HRIS projects and process improvements with the assistance of the ADP Account Manager
- Using Scribe, produce HR SOPs as needed
- Review multi-state payroll registers and partner with Payroll and Accounting to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
Benefits
- Administer company-wide benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and relaying pertinent vendor communications
- Maintain benefit documentation and resources (e.g., new hire slide decks, vendor process guides) for employee use
- Reconcile external record keeper data with ADP data
- Work with Providers and TPAs to sync coverage and processing of employee changes and requests
- Manage annual Open Enrollment, including coordination of communication materials and broker/vendor engagement
Leave Administration
- Manage and track employee leaves of absence, including Paid Leave Oregon, FMLA/OFLA, USERRA, Workers' Compensation, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves
- Utilize vendor portals to monitor claims
- Maintain effective communication of claims statuses and leaves to the employee, manager, and insurance company
Compliance
- Provide employment letters such as verifications and separation documents
- Insure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and reporting requirements
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies and identify policy gaps or inconsistencies
- Participate in audits for finance, 401k, and workmen’s compensation
- Document and analyze HR processes, providing data and recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
- At least five years of progressive Human Resources experience; manufacturing environment experience is a plus
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Experience with HRIS platforms, particularly ADP Workforce Now and Kronos Timekeeping
- Knowledge of multi-state employment laws and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
