Position Summary:
The Digital Media Coordinator plays a key role in amplifying Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast’s (GSWISE) brand and digital presence by developing engaging digital content across social media, email, and web platforms. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Digital Media Coordinator collaborates across departments to gather and share impactful Girl Scout stories and identify new ways to engage the online community of parents/caregivers, volunteers, donors, and the public. This role manages a consistent social media content calendar, fosters digital community conversations, and supports organizational goals through strategic content creation and execution.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar for all council platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), design engaging posts with graphics, videos, testimonials, and web content to support council and Movement objectives.
- Collaborate with staff, Girl Scouts, volunteers, and partners to collect user-generated content, stories, and testimonials.
- Foster online community through proactive engagement and timely response to digital comments and messages.
- Monitor and analyze social media engagement to make actionable data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and execute email campaigns, including two monthly newsletters, council news, program announcements, fundraising appeals, and event promotions.
- Track email campaign metrics (open and click through rates) and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Assist with event photography, video creation, and live social media coverage.
- Partner with program, fund development, camp, product, membership, and recruitment teams to support council initiatives and programs.
- Maintain consistency and compliance with Girl Scout Brand as directed by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).

Who You Are and Keys to Success
- Associate’s degree in a related field or at least two years of experience in social media, content creation, or Marketing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of marketing fundamentals, social media analytics, trends, and best practices.
- Possess strong content creation, copywriting and editing skills.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication; ability to craft compelling messages and presentations tailored to various audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Hootsuite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or other email marketing system, including Constant Contact or Mailchimp).
- Use customer centric focus and interpersonal skills to support and collaborate with diverse teams and networks.
- Prioritize projects to meet deadlines through effective time management and organizational skills.
- Display high integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Proactively and successfully solve problems and resolve conflicts.

- Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and join as a Girl Scout member, which includes paying a membership fee, either annually or as a Lifetime Member.
- Travel within the region and access to dependable transportation is required. A valid driver’s license and use of your own vehicle are preferred. If so, you must comply with the council’s automobile insurance policy limits and have a driving record that meets the requirements of the council’s business auto insurance carrier. If you are unable to drive, a transportation plan must be submitted and approved prior to an official offer being made.
- The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time, occasionally required to stand for long periods, and operate office equipment manually. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
