About the Department

The Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth (BBAY) is a joint powers agreement between the City of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, and the school districts of Osseo, Brooklyn Center, Robbinsdale and Anoka-Hennepin, Hennepin Technical College & North Hennepin Community College.

The BBAY uses a collective impact framework for shared action. This means bringing a broad network of youth and adults together to act. At the BBAY we use all forms of qualitative and quantitative, visual, and other data to reach our mission: The BBAY is a backbone organization that coordinates the efforts of partners to build a system of high-quality, accessible, and fully resourced opportunities that address systemic disparities in graduation, pathways to college and career and youth safety and wellbeing.

The goal of the Culturally Responsive Tutoring program is to incubate a new model for culturally responsive tutoring.  Bring Culturally Responsive tutors to support students during the after-school time. These tutors will mirror the student population: race, language, religion, economic status. We will seek to strengthen existing programs and/or build new programs in partnership with schools.

These positions will be supervised by the Culturally Responsive Tutoring Program Coordinator (CRTPC) and each site will have 1 lead tutor and 2 peer tutors placed at:

  • Robbinsdale Cooper High School

  • Park Center High School

  • Brooklyn Center High School

  • Champlin Park High School

Fall Schedule:  Onboarding is anticipated to start the beginning of September 2025 and the tutoring schedule will be finalized late-August.  Positions will be from late-August 2025 through early-June 2026.  Days and hours are dependent on the site needs, but anticipated to be two (2) times a week from 2:30-5:30PM.

These positions will be assisting students with homework, college application materials, classwork, studying, or any other academic needs. The program will be hosted in a classroom or library setting at the school site where students will drop in as they need.

Application Deadline:  This job posting will be open until filled.  If you have interest in this position, it is highly recommended that you apply as soon as possible upon seeing the announcement as the vacancy may close without notice.
