We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Specialist to join our team!  The Marketing Specialist is a key position in our award-winning Marketing and Communications (MarCom) Department. The Marketing Specialist will assist with various MarCom aspects of internal and external communications including, but not limited to, social media, copywriting, e-news, website management, apparel, graphics design, and will assist with video production and photography.


Job Description:

  • Serve as a MarCom point person collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Communications for internal and external communications and marketing efforts for VCS
  • Manage content and strategy for assigned social media digital platforms to include writing, developing, and editing copy and graphics, and responding to inquiries across platforms
  • Attend events and activities to take pictures and videos for internal and external communication purposes along with proper digital asset management and video creation
  • Produce and generate content for regular e-news updates internally and externally for the school
  • Assists with website management. Including but not limited to building new pages, making edits, camp registrations, live streams, calendar, online ticketing, and surveys
  • Support, design and distribute marketing print and digital materials and graphic design needs
  • Collaborates with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure brand consistency and uniformity of all visual assets across all communication platforms, products, and campuses
  • Manages internal and external gear/apparel - including but not limited to managing vendor relationships, ordering, designs, and fulling and managing Spirit Shop orders (physical store)
  • Build and cultivate relationships with faculty, staff, and students to encourage and support community-made marketing content
  • Collaborate and support the MarCom class and teachers to produce content for the school
  • Adhere to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes, and codes
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony among others

  • Adheres to and honors Valley Christians standards, policies, procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook 
  • Possesses relevant education and/or experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, video editing and Microsoft Office; experience in WordPress a plus
  • Ability to creatively shoot and edit photos and videos projects for multiple departments. Includes taking pictures and videos of people, settings, events, and objects
  • Must be proficient in English 
  • World-class written and verbal communication skills including strong journalistic writing and editorial skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, including public speaking, listening, and interpretive skills
  • Uses time efficiently, multitasking while organizing work systematically, and can independently complete projects as well as follow direction and work with a team
  • A self-starter with a high level of creativity and innovation and a can-do attitude, team player and all-around go-getter willing to work with everyone to get the job done
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
  • Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must have a degree in Communications and/or Marketing or 2 years of related experience
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in Communications and/or Marketing

Physical Requirements: 

  • Use a computer (visual and keyboarding) for long periods of time
  • Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) 50% of the time 
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds 
  • At times requires stooping, bending, turning, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing stairs (2-story) 
  • Use of hands, fingers, arms to reach, grip and maneuver objects
  • Must be able to respond quickly to sounds (fire/security alarms)
  • Work in noisy and crowded school environment 
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings when needed
  • Frequent walking throughout the campus
  • Must be able to travel in state between campuses, to vendors, and to related events
