POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications and Events Coordinator will work with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to grow the Foundation’s diverse community through marketing, public relations, fundraising and special events. This position will be an integral role to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation (AHF). Candidate will help plan, create and execute marketing, public relations, advertising and events for the Foundation, internally and externally.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree required.
· 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, events and/or marketing.
· Video production, editing and photography skills preferred.
· Knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to interact successfully with donors, Board members, work colleagues, media and the public at large.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to write to deadlines.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Creative, self-starter and self-motivated, team player.
- Ability to work cooperatively, professionally, and cordially, and to function well within the team setting.
- Experience in donor database usage preferred.
- Ability to use all standard office equipment, i.e., fax machine, copier, e-mail, and telephone.
· Prior experience with not-for-profit organizations preferred.
· Must have automobile with required insurance coverage and Arkansas driver’s license.
· Belief in and support of Arkansas Hospice and Arkansas Hospice Foundation mission and philosophy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
Marketing and Public Relations
- Creates content (patient, family, organizational and donor stories) for publication in social media, e-newsletters, digital applications and other marketing collateral by utilizing written stories, video and photography.
- Oversees AHF digital media platforms by creating content and execution of social media, email and e-newsletter campaigns to increase giving through these avenues.
- Works with CPO and Arkansas Hospice (AH) Director of Communications to create campaigns and collateral for Foundation initiatives and projects through an integrated marketing approach adhering to strategic plan goals and branding standards.
- Keeps AH Director of Communications updated on any changes needed on Foundation website pages.
- Oversee online giving software platforms, i.e. Classy Fundraising.
- Assists in writing news releases to garner public awareness for projects, announcements and initiatives.
Events and Special Projects
- Planning, implementation and follow-up for all special events such as annual Party at the Plaza by managing logistics, committees, volunteers and partnering with local organizations to increase community involvement and grow donor base.
- Manages all aspects of volunteer committees and volunteer coordination, including but not limited to, staffing, recruitment, supervision, training and acknowledgement.
- Coordinate event logistics, publicity, including public relations, advertising and collateral material design, production and distribution.
- Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the events budgets.
- Works alongside Annual Giving Officer to create and execute statewide events to increase donor engagement and giving circles.
- Creates and executes internal giving opportunities for employee giving campaigns.
- Works on other special projects as needed.
Fundraising
- Increases donations through event sponsorships, digital media and traditional collateral specific to Foundation initiatives.
- Works with a diverse audience from Board Members, employees, families and media to generate interest, partnerships and grow the donor base.
- Documents donor interactions in fundraising database.
- Assists CPO in other fundraising programs as necessary.
- Available to work on occasional nights and weekends and some overnight travel.
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it performs the above listed functions while regularly working with confidential and/or proprietary Arkansas Hospice and patient information, including but not limited to patient medical records, current or former employee information, Arkansas Hospice records, and other information that the employee regularly uses to perform job functions.
