Job Responsibilities
Technical Competency
Assess architectural and landscape designs from a horticultural perspective, determining their impact on plant health and landscape integrity.
Possess expertise in the health assessment of landscapes and trees, including the application of chemical treatments.
Demonstrate knowledge of soil composition, media, and drainage as required for efficient program and project implementation.
Advise on tree and plant selection for landscape projects and recommend alternatives when certain species are unavailable or unsuitable.
Understand various pest control methods, including biological, chemical, and physical controls, and how to integrate them effectively to manage pest populations while minimizing risks to human health and the environment.
Maintain International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist credential.
Exhibit proficiency in automatic irrigation system operation and maintenance.
Possess strong data analysis skills and ability to identify areas for operational improvement and increased productivity.
Develop, review, and improve SOPs as required.
Interpret and utilize CAD drawings effectively.
Functional Competency
Manage the master plan for landscape and pest control operation and maintenance, overseeing both internal teams and external contractors, ensuring all tasks meet prescribed standards and SOPs.
Coordinate closely with all departments and business units regarding projects and maintenance to minimize disruption.
Manage and coordinate with external vendors, ensuring compliance with service agreements, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct routine meetings and collaborate with maintenance contractors to resolve issues and elevate service levels.
Provide regular updates to senior facilities management, internal stakeholders, and business units concerning KPIs and the overall status of landscape and pest control operations.
Execute project management functions for major CAPEX and OPEX upgrading projects on landscape and irrigation systems
Prepare tender documents, define the scope of work, and develop technical specifications.
Manage the procurement process via Ariba, streamlining purchase requests in collaboration with the procurement department.
Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, work allocations, and staffing.
Oversee the planning of resources, labor, and inventory management for essential equipment, tools, spare parts, and supplies.
Provide operational support to new developments, managing takeover processes such as inspection, punch lists, and defect resolution.
Facilitate training and orientation programs for new and existing team members.
Enforce and implement all Compliance and WSH programs.
Remain available for emergency call-outs and fulfill rotating duty executive responsibilities on weekends.
Maintain thorough documentation of essential landscape and pest control activities, including maintenance, replacement, and rectification works.
Execute additional duties as assigned.

Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
Degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture, or related field preferred
Certified practicing horticulturist (CPH)
Experience
Minimum 15 years of solid hands-on practical working in any integrated resorts, hospitality or large complex.
Other Prerequisites
Working knowledge of CRA compliance requirements and familiarity with local regulations, standards, and ordinances governing landscape, irrigation, and pest control operations is advantageous.
Experience with NParks and NEA approval and submission procedures to relevant governmental agencies is preferred.
Able to work outdoors and tolerate environmental factors such as fatigue, noise, dust, and access challenging locations, including elevated areas.
Self-initiating and able to perform with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates a hands-on approach and effectively collaborates with individuals at all organizational levels.
Quality-driven mindset and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
Willing to perform duties during weekends and public holidays.
Capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
Strong computer literacy with IBM Maximo System and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of BIM modeling, Landscape design tools, PowerBI, Ariba, Aconex, etc. is advantageous.
