SHEQ Administrator

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Contract Type: Full-time, Site-based, Mon-Fri 37.5hrs per week
Salary: £30k-£33k based on experience


Role Overview


As a SHEQ Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the SHEQ team to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the HPC site. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, assisting with audits and inspections, and ensuring that SHEQ documentation is up-to-date and accessible.


Key Responsibilities


•    Maintain and update SHEQ documentation, registers, and databases (e.g., incident logs, training records, audit schedules).
•    Support the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits and inspections.
•    Assist in the collation and reporting of SHEQ performance data and KPIs.
•    Ensure timely distribution and communication of SHEQ alerts, bulletins, and updates.
•    Coordinate SHEQ inductions and training sessions for site personnel.
•    Support the SHEQ team in incident investigations by gathering documentation and evidence.
•    Ensure compliance with EDF and Tier 1 contractor SHEQ procedures and standards.
•    Liaise with subcontractors and site teams to ensure SHEQ documentation is submitted and reviewed.
•    Promote a positive SHEQ culture across the site through proactive engagement and communication.


Essential Requirements


•    Previous experience in a SHEQ or administrative role within a construction or engineering environment.
•    Strong organisational and time management skills.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•    Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.
•    Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.


Desirable


•    NEBOSH or IOSH certification (or working towards).
•    Experience working on large infrastructure or nuclear projects.
•    Familiarity with document control systems such as Aconex or CEMAR.
