Project Sales Representative

Raleigh, NC | Full-Time | Hybrid (Field + Office)


Join one of the Southeast’s leading building automation providers.

CMS Controls is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Project Sales Representative (PSR) to lead our growth across key vertical markets. As a PSR, you'll represent our full suite of building automation and energy management solutions, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and end-users to deliver outcomes that matter.

What You’ll Do

  • Own sales growth in assigned vertical markets and geographic territory.
  • Cultivate new relationships while expanding key existing customer accounts.
  • Engage with consulting engineers and MEP contractors to influence design and project strategy.
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to grow CMS visibility.
  • Manage all phases of the sales cycle: discovery, estimating, bidding, proposal, closing, and turnover.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs to operations through structured turnover meetings.
  • Keep CRM (Salesforce) updated with opportunities, forecasts, and activities.

What Success Looks Like

  • Exceeds sales and gross margin targets.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Drives visibility in the market and with engineering partners.
  • Accurately tracks market and project trends for BDM and leadership review.

Requirements

 

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years in B2B project sales (ideally BAS, MEP, construction, or energy).
  • Strong communication, technical aptitude, and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce CRM.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Team-first mindset with entrepreneurial drive and discipline.
