What You’ll Do

The Lead Industrial Engineer is responsible for driving the industrial engineering in designing and deploying core management systems and technical frameworks that reduce time to insight, promote consistency, and scale analytics capabilities. The Lead Industrial Engineer is the team's technical navigator, tasked with cultivating engineering excellence within the team by focusing on defining how the team achieves the objectives set by our organization's decision-making strategy.

  • Ingest projects and requests from end-to-end, defining business needs, developing strategies, and socializing insights to the business.
  • Guide the analysis of manufacturing data sets using business intelligence tools developed and maintained by the Industrial Engineering team.
  • Oversee the Industrial Engineering team in turning data into information, information into insights, and insights into key business decisions that steer the direction of the manufacturing organization.
  • Drive technical clarity and delivery discipline, ensuring the team’s solutions are high-quality, efficient, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Own efforts in continuously improving the effectiveness and scope of industrial models, analytical tools, and data structures that are deployed for short- and long-term planning.
  • Implement the manufacturing data foundry. Empower the team in pursuing the solutions roadmap that defines the facts, dimensions, metrics, and tools that comprise the information architecture for business decision making.
  • Support the manufacturing organization in making commitments with integrity. Lead the development, implementation, and improvement to the suite of industrial models, tools, and management systems used to drive business planning & decision making.
  • Identify the long-term, continuous improvement needs of the team and investigate and propose the use of new, relevant technologies in data automation, modern manufacturing, and business intelligence.
  • Coach and nurture junior team members to maximize their potential and facilitate a culture of learning and growth.


What You’ll Bring

The right person for this role is an agent of change and has exceptional analytical capabilities, thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves problem-solving, is a good communicator, and is passionate about enabling the future of cloud computing.

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent and 8+ years relevant experience in an engineering role (or 6 years’ experience with a master’s degree in a relevant field)
  • MBA or exposure to business, finance or economics is advantageous.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Fluency with business intelligence and analysis tools such as Python, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
  • Growth mindset: you believe in continuous learning by dedication of time, effort, and energy.
  • Takes independent initiative to complete projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Advanced skills in mathematical computing with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, Java, or equivalents), and the ability to learn technical methods and tools independently.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization / presentation skills, including the ability to simplify results & statistical concepts into simple and actionable insights.
  • Ability to convert complex (often data driven) topics to clear overviews and insights.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads and deadlines.
  • Fluency with continuous improvement / lean programs.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word).

ZT Systems assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package is created for all our employees. The typical base salary for this position is expected to be between $116,250 and $155,000 per year. If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
