Overview:Work with a multi-disciplinary team of field staff and other technicians to review survey and utility data collected in the field for accuracy and completeness. May conduct field visits and process audits.
Responsibilities:Leadership and Direction
- Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes. Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute. Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles.
At the Operational and Company Level
- Revise deliverable data and ArcGIS data according to client/manager comments.
Do the Work
- Process daily downloads of field survey and locate data.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining field data files.
- Review field data for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review.
- Assist with populating database with reviewed data sets.
- Assist with creating data quality reports and data queries.
- Assist with populating data into ArcGIS online.
- Revise deliverable data and ArcGIS data according to client/manager comments.
- Assist in submitting data deliverables and reports on time.
- Provide general support for GIS project initiatives.
- Handle basic drafting assignments with little input from supervisor.
- Learn advanced drafting techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners.

- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required, associate's degree preferred. Commensurate relevant experience considered.
- Entry level position, no experience required. Any experience in the geospatial realm a plus.
- Experience with ArcGIS software, geodatabase concepts, and editing tools.
- Proficient in data management, mapping techniques & methods, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience creating data reports using spreadsheets and databases.
- Ability to read utility maps, plans, and as-built drawing.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, basic GPS techniques, land planning, and zoning.
- Partly indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Partly outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours.
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
