Why you're here:

The Senior / Principal Engineer reports to the Head of Hardware Engineering and works alongside the Hardware, embedded software and Product teams. You are here to:

  • Design and develop System Architecture for disguise FPGA products
  • Write and own technical specifications
  • Work closely with and mange augmented teams
  • Deliver mature product features that are well documented

What you are here to do:

Your role as a Mid/ Senior FPGA Engineer is to work closely with technical and product teams to design and define the architecture used in the latest disguise FPGA based products. You will implement cutting-edge protocols and interfaces for Broadcast and ProAV verticals, and carry out the necessary functional testing and protocol compliance required to meet specifications.

You will design video processing functions and algorithms, simulate and test high speed FPGA designs using Vivado and the latest FPGA technologies.

You will maintain and evolve disguise modules through multiple versions and products ensuring that we keep adding value to the product lines through their lifecycle.

You will create time estimates and schedules for RTL development and validation to run alongside software and hardware design.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level (BEng and beyond) with 5 years experience working on FPGA based products
  • RTL Verilog/ VHDL syntax and hardware modelling
  • Experience of high speed transceiver implementations
  • Strong Understanding of all AXI protocol
  • Experienced in debugging both RTL and IP Cores
  • Knowledge and experience of Video and Image processing
  • Have seen at least one product through from concept to delivery
  • Excellent Time management and ability to handle multiple projects in parallel
  • Ability to work with non technical teams distilling the requirements into an FPGA solution

Desirable

  • Experience with video technology or general experience within the AV industry
  • Good knowledge of PCB Schematics/ PCB Design
  • Xilinx components and tooling
  • Working with high speed interfaces 12G SDI, 25/100G Ethernet, HBR3/10/20
  • Knowledge or background working with ProAV standards such as HDMI and DisplayPort
  • Knowledge or background working with Broadcast standards such as SDI and SMPTE 2110
  • General knowledge of custom hardware and embedded software
  • Excited to research and learn about unfamiliar topics and sharing knowledge
