At EQ Bank, we're building a better banking experience — one that’s transparent, human, and designed to help Canadians reach their financial goals. Our Single Family Residential team plays a key role in that mission, and we’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help us strengthen relationships with mortgage brokers and grow our presence in the Canadian mortgage market.
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll be the voice of EQ Bank for your assigned broker network. You’ll build strong, trusted relationships, support high‑quality deal flow, and collaborate closely with our internal sales and credit partners to ensure brokers receive the exceptional service we’re known for.
What You’ll Do
1. Grow Origination Volume
Generate and grow mortgage origination potential within your assigned broker territories.
Prospect and onboard new brokers, conduct outreach, and build a strong pipeline of deal opportunities.
Deliver product training and value‑prop sessions (primarily through webinars).
Help brokers identify and structure deals aligned to EQ Bank’s credit appetite.
Monitor submissions, funded volume, and pipeline activity to meet assigned targets.
2. Build Exceptional Broker Relationships
Develop professional, service‑first relationships in a competitive marketplace.
Support brokers throughout the deal lifecycle and promote EQ Bank’s value proposition.
Adjust tactics based on month‑end pressures, competitive pricing, and market dynamics.
3. Collaborate Across Teams
Work closely with credit and underwriting teams to move deals from commitment to funding.
Assist in resolving broker issues, while respecting internal roles and processes.
Share broker insights and competitive intelligence with internal partners.
4. Stay Organized & Support Operational Excellence
Capture and maintain broker interaction notes, updates, and key insights.
Submit accurate and timely sales and activity reporting.
Maintain broker records, rate updates, and assist as needed with internal operational requests.
5. Represent EQ Bank
Participate in industry events, broker trainings, and special sessions as needed.
Model EQ’s values of integrity, transparency, and partnership in every interaction.
What You Bring
