Job Description
Overview:
Wonderful Citrus Harvest Internship offers hands-on, real-world experience designed to prepare students for full-time employment after college. Interns will gain practical exposure to field operations while working alongside experienced professionals who bring years of industry knowledge and expertise. Through mentorship, on-the-job learning, and active participation in harvest activities, interns will develop the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to build a successful career in agricultural operations. This internship is on-site and full-time (40 hours per week), with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday. Work hours and days may vary based on business needs.
Here’s What You’ll Do
- Learn and understand all aspects of Field Operations including labor management, compliance, crop pacing, market designation, and harvest maturity standards.
- Support field supervisors with daily operations, including overseeing harvest crews, evaluating field conditions, and monitoring harvest quality.
- Assist the field operations team with collecting, entering, and analyzing field-related data, such as yield estimates and size and quality assessments.
- Participate in planning and coordinating harvest activities
Qualifications
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Must be an active Wonderful Scholar
- High School Diploma or GED, with current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Crop Science, Fruit Science, Ag Business or related field.
- Demonstrated interest in crop production and farming operations.
- Junior or Senior academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Completion of core concentration coursework in a related field of study.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Energetic, motivated, and eager to take on new challenges.
