CorVel utilizes proprietary software to deliver claims management, bill review, and case management services to our customers. Both CorVel employees and external users require proper setup and access within these systems. Multiple roles and permissions define user access levels, making accurate configuration critical to operational success.

The User Configuration Specialist / Business Analyst will become a subject matter expert (SME) in user setup and application access controls. This hybrid role combines operational responsibilities with analytical tasks:

  • 70% focused on user operations and configuration.
  • 30% dedicated to business analysis activities leveraging SME knowledge.

 

Key Expectations:

  • Act as an intermediary between end users and technical teams, translating business requirements into actionable solutions.
  • Solve complex technical problems with innovative approaches.
  • Build strong relationships through effective communication (phone, email, and other channels).
  • Work independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability as technologies evolve.

 

This is a hybrid operations role.  The candidate will be expected to be a Business Analyst and work on operations tasks related to user configuration with the expectation of becoming a user configuration subject matter expert.

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

  • Proven experience in setting up and maintaining users within complex application environments.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for troubleshooting and process improvement.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including writing and optimizing queries with various joins.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance analysis and operational efficiency.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

User Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities (Approx. 70% of Role):

  • Develop deep expertise in user setup tools for both internal and external users.
  • Manage user accounts in proprietary software, including:
    • Processing internal and external user setup requests.
    • Understanding and maintaining complex user roles and hierarchies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user-related issues, providing timely and effective support.
  • Gain proficiency in CorVel’s proprietary applications related to user configuration.
  • Create, review, and maintain user setup documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Proactively pursue additional skills and training aligned with team objectives; demonstrate initiative in learning CorVel applications.

 

Business Analyst Responsibilities (Approx. 30% of Role):

  • Participate in development projects related to user maintenance and user systems.
  • Conduct analysis and research for assigned tasks during stakeholder or PSG team meetings.
  • Participate in or lead meetings with stakeholders and technical teams to align objectives.
  • Document and maintain detailed notes on strategic business requirements and processes.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Proven experience leveraging AI tools to enhance analysis and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
  • Track record of delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Previous experience in a Business Systems Analysis role.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting software applications.
  • Expertise in user setup and role management within complex systems.
  • Familiarity with support ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Remedy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries with various joins.

     

    PAY RANGE: 

    CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location.  Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors:  federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions.  Our ranges may be modified at any time. 

    For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.  The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process. 

    Pay Range:  $59,562 – $89,057
