 Systems Administrator – Application Support (AMG)

Notified is seeking a System Administrator to join our team of Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers and Product Managers based out of our Bangalore, India office location.

Essential functions of role

Team: Application Management Group - DevOps

Area of responsibility – overview

  • Monitor and Troubleshooting Application and Infrastructure issues (Incident Tracking and Resolution).
  • Develop, collect, maintain and distribute key technology metrics both in real time and historical on the revenue generating products.
  • Develop and maintain a metrics dashboard which is primarily responsible for communicating real time product availability status and historical key performance indicators to technology and segment management.
  • Recommend new technology products (hardware, software, disaster recovery) that can be leveraged in the areas of Infrastructure/Application Support.
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle contributing in the areas Application Release and supporting Infrastructure build out.
  • Manage and maintain Support tool sets.
  • Act as a liaison to the business segment, facilitating communication between Development, QA, Product Management, Technical Operations and Segment business leaders on new product releases, technical outages, and routine.  Effective communication and presentation to key business stakeholders are instrumental.
  • Develop, facilitate and maintain best of breed product support tools including run books, monitoring, and knowledge bases to aid in the product support process
  • 24/7 Support model (3 shifts/Day model - 6am-3pm IST, 1 PM-10 PM IST, 9 PM-6 AM IST). Shift currently are at 5 days per week. 

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: 

  • 0–1-year Cloud and/or Systems Engineering, Application Management experience
  • ITIL Process awareness with focus on Incident management and Change Management 
  • Cloud Infrastructure Support (Terraform preferred)
  • Operating System – Windows, Unix (DNS, Domain administration awareness)
  • Web-services Administration/Support– IIS, Apache Tomcat
  • Networking basics and awareness on the functioning of Load-Balancer and Firewalls
  • Web Application Frameworks (e.g..,.net) awareness
  • Database:  Support and Administration/ awareness (MSSQL, MySQL or any other DB technology)
  • Awareness Version Control Systems (e.g., Version 1, Git, GitHub Enterprise)
  • Ability to handle multiple-tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
  • Awareness or exposure to Performance monitoring tools (eg., NewRelic, AppDynamics etc)
  • Scripting Knowledge (Powershell/VB/Perl/shell scripts)

Good to Have:

  • Continuous Integration and Deployment awareness (eg., Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Docker)
  • Production Support experience 
  • Certification on AWS, Windows, Unix will be a plus

Education & training

 Applicants for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications. 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering or equivalent business degree

Experience:  

  • 0-2 years Systems Administration, Application Management, DevOps and Production Support.

You will be working closely with both a co-located team in Boston and with engineering teams of other products in North America, Europe and Asia to build a new software solution from scratch. We expect you to innovate – not to maintain legacy code!

This role will be based out of The Leela Office located on the 4th Floor, Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore- 560008.  Our expectation at this time, is that you would work in HYBRID, 24/7 Support model (3 shifts/Day model - 6am-3pm IST, 1 PM-10 PM IST, 9 PM-6 AM IST). 

*Shift currently are at 5 days per week. 
*Work from office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays with cab pick-up and drop available. Can work from home on Monday and Friday
