At CESO, a Lead Engineer applies advanced technical expertise and project experience to independently manage complex engineering tasks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction documentation, specifications, and design solutions across multiple projects. This position involves mentoring junior engineers, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and drive project success. The Lead Engineer actively contributes to internal and external meetings, supports the development of engineering standards and best practices, and plays a key role in improving processes and fostering innovation.

determined by several factors, including location, experience, education, skills, and internal equity. Our pay
structures are benchmarked against industry and market data to stay competitive. Each offer is based on a full review
of a candidate’s background, qualifications, and fit for the role.
Below are the typical new hire pay ranges for this position based on location:
• Charlotte, NC: $91,771 - $116,243
Primary Responsibilities
Assist team members by providing technical direction.
Prepare construction and ancillary documents, perform complex site design, and prepare reports, studies, and project documents.
Lead and support design teams in planning, coordination, and execution of project tasks, and coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure project alignment and accuracy.
Research and apply relevant design standards, codes, and regulations for compliance and quality, and perform engineering calculations and technical analysis.
Conduct quality assurance reviews of engineering documentation and manage tasks effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments to meet project deadlines.
Develop practical, innovative, and efficient solutions for various project types.
Interpret and apply Company and AHJ standards on all designs and layouts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and certification as an EIT with a state licensure board is preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required.
Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, BlueBeam Revu and other applicable design software.
