- The Sales Operations Manager manages processes essential to sales force productivity. These include planning, budgeting, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales training and sales program implementation and further development.
- Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, the Sales Operations Manager works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization and aligned to FlexSteel’s sales and strategic initiatives.
- The position requires close interaction with the sales team, marketing, manufacturing, field services, along with cross-functional executive leadership of the organization. Solid analytical, modeling and communication skills are required to drive sales budgets and forecast processes, along with communicating results to the sales leadership team. The Sales Operations Manager also oversees sales organization’s supporting systems and processes including CRM (salesforce.com), business intelligence tools (Drilling info, RigData, Enverus, etc), and other critical business systems.

- Oversee daily operations of the Sales Operations team/department
- Facilitate and drive planning and execution of the company’s sales strategy and objectives designed to grow the business
- Management of market and customer intelligence
- Establish and review key strategic priorities and translate them into comprehensive strategic plans with actionable and quantitative initiatives, milestones, and activities
- Develop tactical initiatives to assist in the achievement of sales objectives and targets
- Manage team of Sales Operations coordinators, analysts, specialists, and support staff charged with executing sales operations strategies
- Source, interview, hire, train, and mentor candidates for the Sales Operations team
- Establish goals and review Sales Operations team’s performance
- Develop and implement company’s annual sales budgeting and interim sales forecasting processes.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.
- Report sales results to sales leadership team
- Oversee company’s sales reporting templates and internal communication
- Interact with other teams including manufacturing, services, accounting, and operations to ensure client needs are met
- Oversee CRM (salesforce) related processes and ensure data management and quality
- Review and manage product pricing within the CRM and implement pricing strategies
- Review custom RFQs/Bid packages and coordinate with other teams to ensure on-time submittal to clients
- Lead custom proposal package generation
- Assist with development, communication and tracking of KPIs to the sales organization
- Support marketing activities as needed, including client collateral development, lunch and learn presentations, quarterly commercial reviews, trade shows, branding
- Drive company’s business intelligence (market, competitor, client), including related processes and systems
- Implements enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. Works closely with sales management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s technology investments
- Coordinates training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization
- Manages and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives
- Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution.
- Two years sales or sales management experience in a business-to-business sales environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.
- Deep expertise and operating fluency in a range of technology platforms
- Business Acumen: Knowledge of business terms to analyze and be able to apply business matrix and principals to address business needs, Strategic alignment, elements of a business case.
- Business intelligence techniques and tools
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must be able to translate complex data into concise insight and recommendations
