Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Tax & Treasury Accountant works closely with and provides support to the Senior Tax & Treasury Accountant, reporting directly to the Director of Tax & Treasury. This position plays an integral role in the firm’s tax compliance and treasury management functions and requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and solid analytical skills to ensure operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant. The ideal candidate will assist with a broad range of tax and treasury activities and collaborate across departments to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assist with federal, state, and local tax compliance, including estimated income tax payments, tax returns, and supporting workpapers.

  • Prepare and file state and local tax returns (sales/use, personal property, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate compliance.

  • Support tax planning initiatives and assist in identifying opportunities to improve the firm’s tax position.

  • Contribute to automation and process improvement efforts within tax and treasury workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Perform internal control procedures and assist with key general ledger reconciliations.

  • Prepare daily cash reports, monitor cash flow activity, and assist with bank compliance requirements.

  • Track and analyze foreign exchange rates and provide support in assessing related exposure.

  • Assist with treasury strategy, liquidity forecasting, and other ad hoc projects as assigned.

  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., auditors, banks, tax advisors) to support business objectives.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • 1-3 years of related work experience

  • Advanced Excel capabilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional analytical skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities

  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly

     Target Hiring Range $81,000 - $102,000


Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
