Overview:

Work shift: Sun–Thu; Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM)

 

As a critical contributor to the Operations Team, the Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in setting the agenda and executing the strategy of the Business Unit. This position holds responsibility for all site plant operations during the assigned shift—including oversight of three bottle lines, a bag-in-box (BIB) line, and a can line—as well as the activities of several ad hoc teams. The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations while enabling their teams to meet Business Unit expectations across our core Key Performance Measures: People, Quality, Service, and Cost.

Responsibilities:

The Maintenance/Engineering Associate Supervisor is responsible for planning and executing maintenance work through the work order process utilizing the site CMMS (SAP). Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–8 non-union mechanics and electricians with diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Drive team performance across People, Quality, Cost, Service, and Safety KPIs.
  • Apply technical expertise in operations, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance on all plant equipment.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule work orders, including parts procurement and resource allocation.
  • Motivate team members, set clear expectations, and hold them accountable for achieving performance targets.
  • Model and enforce the Company’s core values, policies, and safety standards.
  • Maintain shop equipment in a safe and effective condition; develop and administer maintenance, safety, and quality programs.
  • Investigate equipment issues, assign resources, and maximize effective use of manpower.
  • Manage staffing schedules to control overtime costs while ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Review and approve time assignments to minimize labor costs.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed effectively, efficiently, and on time.
  • Establish and manage adherence to the operating unit’s maintenance budgets.
  • Facilitate team meetings to drive communication, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Remove barriers to goal achievement and foster a culture of accountability and problem-solving.
  • Build strong technical knowledge of plant equipment and serve as a resource to team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Lead and promote root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
  • Use computer systems and reporting tools to interpret performance data and drive decision-making.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) as needed.
  • Evaluate and recommend critical or rebuild spares to optimize storeroom inventory using the red-tag process.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $69,900 - $117,000.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of operations maintenance experience, including equipment upkeep, preventive maintenance, project management, and machine efficiency improvements.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience with proven ability to develop technicians, deliver training, and foster a positive work culture.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments and functions.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving improvements in quality, safety, and service performance.
  • High level of independence with the ability to set priorities and deliver measurable results.
  • Experience with utility systems, automation technologies, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with solid technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Millwright ticket with Red Seal certification (Alberta) considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, preventive maintenance systems, SAP, and demonstrated knowledge of CMMS tools.
