We have an exciting Technical Services Manager, International Sales opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. In this highly impactful role, you will provide technical leadership for the International Sales Team. This role is also responsible for guidance and policy regarding export documentation, export labeling compliance, export customs issues, export product specifications, plant FSQA and Operations processes for export products. This person will also be responsible for technical advisory of Seaboard Foods system integration for compliance with FSIS/PHIS documentation initiatives as well as FAS reporting requirements for export sales reporting. This role will also provide support for return of product into the US from foreign countries when required. You will also act as the lead for technical projects for the Seaboard Foods International Sales Team and provide guidance on technical aspects that will allow them to achieve their sales goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list is not intended to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be able to work with international sales team, plant operations and FSQA and customers to ensure all technical aspects of product specifications, labeling and export requirements are met for the export of Seaboard Foods products
  • Coordinate with international sales team, customers, plant operations and FSQA on technical aspects of complaints and claims when guidance is needed
  • Work with USMEF, FAS and FSIS personnel on export issues related to pork exports and export requirements to resolve them and communicate any policy changes, issues or new or revised compliance guidelines to management, operations, FSQA and sales
  • Manage the importation and communication of returned containers back into the US and complete FSIS, APHIS filings for the return as well as ensure logistics has filed customs paperwork
  • Visit plant production facilities to coordinate with FSQA and Operations on any revised, updated or new export product specifications and requirements
  • Work closely with FSQA team regarding any regulatory export requirement changes and export customer and export country audits of Seaboard Foods production plants
  • Assist with export document issues that require re-issue or re-inspection of product for export from 3rd party inspection establishments
  • Travel to end user facilities to understand requirements for Seaboard Foods export products as raw material in export customer’s finished goods
  • Assist international sales with development of new products and specifications
  • Provide technical advisory of Seaboard Foods system integration for compliance with FSIS/PHIS documentation initiative
  • Provide technical advisory for FAS ESRMS 2.1 reporting requirements for export sales reporting
  • Attend USDA/FSIS export related conference calls or in person updates as well as all USMEF pork export regulatory and compliance updates via call or in person when required
  • Assist Seaboard Foods export document team and plant export document teams with updates to export library requirements for export shipments

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required:

  • 7+ years’ successful sales and technical experience in the pork industry, international trade experience.
  • Basic knowledge of protein manufacturing plant operations and pork product specifications required.
  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating, analytical and presenting skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in animal science, agriculture, or related field.
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of the export process, including understanding of duties, tariffs, and letters of credit and shipping documentation.

 

SCHEDULE

  • Normal business hours or as needed to support business needs.
