The Leave Management Coordinator assists with administer the provisions granted to employees under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). As well assisting in the administration of other Leave of Absence Programs including Daikin's Personal Leave of Absence (PLOA) and Daikin's Medical Leave of Absence (MLOA).

May include:

• Responsible for managing employee leaves from beginning regarding their responsibilities and expectations.

• Acts as a liaison between location management, the HR Team, TPA, and the employee.

• Manages leave in accordance with FMLA, ADA and other applicable federal, state and local laws including keeping up to date on future changes and implementing changes as required.

• Communicates with employees including but not limited to documentation and notice requirements.

• Administrates other company time off program as assigned in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. 

• Creates and maintains accurate and compliant leave of absence tracing and recordkeeping. 

• Maintains reasonable communication with employees and internal partners throughout the leave and as needed to facilitate a smooth and timely return.

• Responds in a timely manner to information requests from leave TPA, employees, and internal partners in a professional manner and escalates correspondence when necessary and appropriate.

• Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, short-term disability and long-term disability benefits. 

• Maintains an understanding of all company benefits to ensure employees understand the function of their benefits during a leave or disability event. 

• Understand the company’s Leave of Absence policies and the benefits offered by the company.  

• Provides support to other HR functions and administrative areas in the Company (such as Shared Services)

• Responsible for the Remedy ticket system

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Adapts procedures, processes, and tools to meet the requirements of the role 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to Embrace the "Customer and Team First" concept

• Proficient computer skills – MS Office – Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint

• Experience with HRIS systems/platforms

• Ability to focus, high level of attention to detail and accuracy of information

• Demonstrate good judgement and problem-solving skills

• Effective organizational and time management including priority setting skills 

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

• Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information

• Ability to work flexible schedule when necessary

• Strong mathematical, technical and analytical skills along with keen attention to detail

• ability to handle a heavy workload and ability to prioritize

• Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

Experience:

• 2 or more years preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment

• Leave administration experience in a large company highly preferred

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Additional training/education is a plus

• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations 

• Must be flexible – work outside of standard office hours as needed 

• Must wear required PPE in designated manufacturing areas
