Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Professional 1 level position. Starting salary range: $42,504.00 - $48,048.00/annually, depending upon experience.

Job Summary: Core responsibilities of this position include

The Sports Information Coordinator & Head Esports Coach is a full-time benefited position responsible for enhancing the visibility of LCCC Athletics by managing media coverage, maintaining the athletics website, and producing engaging content across digital and print platforms. It ensures compliance and recognition through accurate statistical reporting, coordination with Region IX and NJCAA, and strong media partnerships, while supporting flexible scheduling to meet the dynamic needs of athletic events. For ESports, the Head Coach provides effective leadership, recruitment, coaching and monitoring of student-athletes to encourage successful academic and team performance of the Esports teams.

The head Esports coach is responsible for working with the LCCC Foundation to raise operational and scholarship funds for the Esports program.   The head Esports coach is also responsible for working with the Director of Athletics on other aspects relating to the Athletic Department.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA.  This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).

Sports information management & coordination– Oversee the management and coordination of LCCC Golden Eagle Athletics by enhancing the visibility and engagement for Golden Eagle Athletics through strategic media and promotional efforts. 

  • Collaborate with Assistant Coaches and Marketing & Communications for athletic program media presence which may include, but is not limited to, gameday promotion, marketing, and social media campaigns.
  • Maintain and update the Athletics website, assist coaches in maintaining, rosters, schedule, and short stories
  • Ensure brand consistency and regulatory adherence across all athletic communications.
Coaching- Provide effective leadership to student athletes by giving training direction, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for competitive events
  • Adjust coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of athletes
  • Monitor and support academic development
  • Provide and promote community involvement
  • Positive representation of the college at all times
  • Provide a safe environment for student athletes through actively monitoring activities, equipment, and facilities with efforts on incident prevention
  • Attend all mandatory LCCC and Region meetings
  • Stay current of changing rules, techniques, technologies and philosophies relevant to collegiate athletics
Recruiting- Conduct student athlete recruitment including travel by meeting with recruits, parents/guardians, current coaches, current school, and other necessary parties
  • Recruit and retain student athletes that will positively represent the college both academically and as an athletic team member
  • Identify, communicate, and offer athletic participation and/or scholarships to prospective student athletes in accordance with all sport-governing bodies/affiliations and in accordance with the college’s procedures
  • Communicate and actively engage the necessary college departments/parties such as Financial Aid, Admissions, Director of Athletics, and the Assistant Director of Athletics when offering Scholarships
  • Effectively build and maintain recruitment channels and relationships with coaches, schools, and communities within the college’s recruitment area
Administrative Duties - Work to ensure all LCCC and NJCAAE policies, procedures, and regulations are being followed and complied with by properly communicating and collaborating with all departments that have influence on such matters. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with Admissions, Financial Aid, and other departments to ensure appropriate registration, admission, and other administrative processing of student athletes
  • Coordinate with Residential Living & Learning for appropriate space utilization and logistics.
  • Work with necessary departments to plan, monitor, document, and maintain the program budget. 
  • Organize, set up, take down and administer all events including but not limited to the Esports program including games and tournaments. 
  • Support, plan, and work with the college Foundation to promote program fundraising and generation of scholarship funds.
  • Coordinate and plan with all necessary college departments to complete necessary procedures, forms, and activities that relate to the operations and travel for the athletic program. 
  • Participate annually in the Golden Eagles Sports Institute.  
  • Be present at all sessions/weeks of the Sports Institute.
  • Develop a Sports Institute program for specified coached sport.
  • Supervise and organize participants in specified Sports Institute program

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years sports information experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of multiple esports, particularly team-based multi-player games and NJCAA compliance, rules and regulations
  • Coaching experience or at least two years of collegiate level or higher (professional) experience as a competitor.
  • Driver’s License and ability to be insured by the College’s insurance provider.
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First-Aid, and AED certifications within six months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master’s Degree in a related field of study from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • College sports information experience.
  • Collegiate-level esports coaching experience.
