A mid-size Chicago law firm is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Support Specialist to join our team. Position Overview
The Litigation Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting attorneys and the docketing team by ensuring accurate and timely handling of motion call responsibilities, case documentation, and records management. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across attorneys, docket staff, and other stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly record attorney billable time related to motion calls in accordance with firm guidelines.
• Draft, prepare, proofread, electronically file state and federal court filings, including orders, pleadings, and correspondence, and monitor the status thereof.
• Record motion call results within case management system, update status accordingly, and schedule follow-up hearings as needed.
• Create and maintain the motion call database and weekly reports related thereto.
• Coordinate motion call assignment across various departments.
• Review, download, and manage court documents and records and distribute via task workflow.
• Track new cases on service provider websites.
• Conduct searches on legal and court databases (PACER, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Pohlman, and county/state systems).
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, court clerks, and vendors regarding hearings, motions, and filings.
• Maintain organized and accessible case files.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent law firm experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a litigation support or legal assistant role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with court rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
• Experience in docketing, time entry, and document drafting.
• Background in insurance defense or asbestos litigation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Compensation and Benefits Overview: $55,000-$70,000 (DOE)
The pay offered for this role may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligible employees may also receive bonus opportunities and other forms of compensation, contributing to a comprehensive total rewards package. Benefits offerings may differ based on location.
