Position Overview
The Regional Director of Operations (RDO) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the performance and success of a regional portfolio of Atira-managed hotels. This role ensures that each property operates efficiently, meets or exceeds financial goals, and maintains Atira’s high standards of guest service and team culture.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, inspires high-performing teams, and consistently drives operational and financial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to General Managers across assigned properties.
 - Ensure consistency in guest experience, operational processes, and brand compliance.
 - Conduct regular property visits to evaluate performance, provide coaching, and reinforce Atira’s service culture.
 - Lead by example in delivering the company’s mission of “Authentic Hospitality.”
 
Financial Performance
- Drive profitability by monitoring hotel-level financials, identifying revenue opportunities, and managing costs effectively.
 - Analyze performance data, including P&Ls, budgets, and forecasts, to ensure optimal results.
 - Partner with corporate and property-level teams to execute revenue strategies and maximize return on investment.
 - Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and performance reviews.
 
People & Culture
- Recruit, mentor, and develop exceptional General Managers and department leaders.
 - Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and empowerment across all properties.
 - Promote Atira’s commitment to associate engagement, diversity, and professional growth.
 - Provide performance feedback and leadership development to strengthen the region’s management bench.
 
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Champion Atira’s service philosophy by ensuring guest satisfaction scores and online reputation benchmarks are achieved.
 - Review and respond to quality assurance audits and guest feedback.
 - Implement service recovery and improvement plans to continuously enhance the guest experience.
 
Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with corporate departments in Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, HR, and Finance to execute strategic initiatives.
 - Support new property openings, transitions, and acquisitions within the region.
 - Provide market insights and operational recommendations to senior leadership.
 
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
 - Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel operations experience, including 5+ years in a Regional or area General Manager for multi-property leadership preferred.
 - Proven record of driving hotel profitability, guest satisfaction, and team performance.
 - Strong understanding of branded hotel operations (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Hyatt, etc.) and independent property management.
 - Excellent leadership, financial, analytical, and communication skills.
 - Willingness to travel regularly within assigned markets.
