$23.86 to $26.25 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Performs experienced technical work for Risk Management’s Property, Casualty, and Workers’ Compensation programs. Work includes serving as an interface between the County and third-party claim administrator (TPA) for the County’s liability, property, and/or workers’ compensation programs to collect and accurately process claim information; adhering to County, State, and insurance policy reporting requirements; ensuring accurate and timely payments; maintaining claim files, managing electronic claim data, and assisting with insurance renewals. Work involves extensive typing, document management, and spreadsheet development and maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical, insurance, and/or claims adjusting experience, which includes one (1) year of experience processing insurance claims for auto liability, general liability, and/or workers’ compensation claims. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Experience in an insurance or risk management office or a local government property, casualty, and/or workers’ compensation program is preferred. Experience in document management, spreadsheet development, and spreadsheet/electronic data maintenance is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
