SUMMARY:
The Event Marketing Specialist will support the development and launch of the Brand, Promotional Campaigns, as well as Store Openings that are designed to build brand equity, drive traffic to stores and increase customer engagement. They will also play a critical role in managing Metro and Food Basics community/local events by increasing engagement with store manager and customers activations. They will work closely with the Brand Managers on both banners to ensure seamless brand experience across all parts of the customer journey and will ensure that brand components are optimized for the local community.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess local sponsorship and donation opportunities to align with brand strategy.
- Strategize, plan, and execute brand building and community events in collaboration with external agencies.
- Support key internal events—such as the Store Manager's Conference, corporate BBQ, charity golf tournament, and holiday celebrations—to ensure smooth execution and business alignment.
- Manage local advertising and sponsorship activations, working with brand and digital teams.
- Oversee local marketing initiatives, including campaign planning and calendar management.
- Collaborate with store managers, operations, and merchandising to tailor strategies for each community. Enforce the banners' brand positioning.
- Analyze event performance, customer engagement, and ROI to optimize future activations.
- Track and consolidate period end budget data and reports; manage and process invoices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or related education in marketing, communications or e-Commerce.
- 3 - 5 years relevant brand and/or marketing communications experience; combination of experience is ideal.
- 2+ years of relevant event planning experience in a corporate or agency environment.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Experience working with agencies (media, digital, advertising, PR).
- Knowledge of CMS tools, Google Analytics, and social media integration.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work within budget perimeters.
