Position Summary:
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the purchasing process for assigned categories or vendors. This role ensures cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality standards and supplier performance. The Procurement Specialist supports strategic sourcing efforts and collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, pricing, and service standards.
- Conduct cost analysis and negotiate contracts to achieve savings targets.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., production, finance, engineering) to align procurement with business needs.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Maintain procurement records, forecasts, and inventory levels as needed.
- Assist in developing sourcing strategies and participate in supplier selection processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement or buying.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of sourcing best practices and supplier management.
