Overview:

This position manages parts operations within the truck shop to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while ensuring profitability through part sales, inventory control, and expense control.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes and merchandises parts and accessories.
  • Adheres to annual Parts Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper control procedures.
  • Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.
  • Maximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals.
  • Ensures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in Parts Department operations.
  • Knowledge of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations.
Skills:
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Access).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for analyzing and interpreting internal reports.
  • Ability to effectively lead and work as a member of the team.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirments:
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Frequently climb ladders, and occasionally work at heights of 100 feet.
Environment:
  • Regularly exposed to work near moving parts/equipment.
  • Regularly exposed to major amounts of dust.
  • Regularly exposed to a moderate to severe noise levels.
  • Frequently exposed to outdoor/uncontrolled weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
