POSITION SUMMARY
- The Sr. Director Country Manager, Canada will be directly responsible for all commercially related activities within the country: including development of strategic plan; execution of tactical initiatives; personnel management and close communication and cooperation with other managers and inter-departmental stakeholders.
- This position will report to the Vice President International Commercial Sales & Operations.
- The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of Oncology related Sales and Marketing experience in commercializing Oncology Pharma, screening products and/or molecular diagnostics/IVD in Canada or North America and a proven track record delivering results in a timely and efficient manner.
- Previous experience as a Country Manager or an equivalent position is strongly preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide effective leadership and strategic direction for the Canadian business, engaging with external stakeholders and growing our corporate presence by increasing market awareness of Exact Science’s complete current and future portfolio of products, precision oncology and screening.
- Coordinate all commercialization activities for Precision Oncology and other portfolio products eg Screening in Canada including strategy, marketing, sales, country specific operations and reimbursement.
- Take full responsibility to manage the Country P&L.
- Lead ongoing assessments of provincial and regional business opportunities and effectively prioritize these opportunities within the National Business plan.
- Generate deep insight into local healthcare ecosystems and market landscape in order to identify opportunities to deliver improved patient outcomes through integration of Exact Science’s solutions.
- Build a Screening sales team, develop and implement business and account plans to increase the visibility and awareness of the Company’s screening products and maximize opportunities and sales growth.
- Deliver profitable sales through the cost-effective use of resources to ensure sales targets are achieved/exceeded.
- Keep abreast of changes in market and environmental landscape by gathering competitive intelligence and incorporating into both short and long-term corporate plans.
- Monitor key sales metrics and directing sales activities as needed to achieve business goals.
- Lead the commercial team in Canada including ongoing performance appraisals and management, target-setting, personnel selection; retention initiatives and mentoring new personnel as appropriate. Ensure effective teamwork and collaboration with, headquarter colleagues, consultants, and vendors to support business objectives.
- Work closely with relevant functions within Exact Sciences such as Communication, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, HR & Finance.
- Support execution of country business plan incorporating both precision oncology and all portfolio products, through strong teamwork with International Team by:
- Providing leadership for the adoption and execution of international marketing initiatives.
- Working with the international training lead to implement local training programs.
- Driving local Market Access opportunities in collaboration with the Market Access team.
- Ensuring the right Medical Affairs support through the involvement of the Medical Affairs team.
- Collaborate with the key functions to execute the Commercial Excellence Program (including the effective usage of Marketing tools, Key Account Management and sales planning).
- Develop relationships with key customers, KOLs and other relevant stakeholders to support collaborative business initiatives to establish and nurture key strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with Medical Societies and Canadian Authorities to support patient access for Exact Sciences products.
- Provide input to the long range (LRP) and corporate plans that will serve as the basis for forecasts and resource allocation.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
The Country Manager Canada will also act as a core member of the International Commercial Operations Management Team ensuring a proactive and positive input to the governance of the overall International Commercial Operations Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree required, or relevant business experience strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of Oncology Related Sales and Marketing experience with international pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or lab corporation, several years as BU Head preferred.
- In-depth understanding of commercialization of Oncology products, screening products and/or molecular diagnostics in Canada. IVD experience considered a plus.
- Proven track record leading personnel with both direct and indirect reporting lines and demonstrated leadership in working with cross-functional departments in an international environment. Experience as Country Manager/ Country Lead strongly preferred.
- Proficient PC and Microsoft Office skills.
- Fluent in English. Ability to speak French is a strong plus.
- Ability to travel at minimum 50% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

TRAVEL/LOCATION
- Travel Requirements: 50% Travel.
- Location: Canada (Toronto or Montreal are the preferred locations).
