Reports To: Deputy Director Get Moving!

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing family and resource support, program administration and activity support under the direction of Get Moving! Deputy Director. This position requires a good understanding of program policies and procedures, and the ability to work with instructors, parents, program partners, and community members in a culturally diverse setting. This person is the point for parents, scheduling, organizing activities and will coordinate the space and location reservations for off-site activity. This position will perform community outreach to enroll participants in the program and implement new programming ideas.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates day to day program support activities for the Get Moving! program including coordinating events, communication for parents, vendors and partners and scheduling for daily activities.
  • Assists with the development and/or delivery of a variety of program activities and promotions onsite and offsite.
  • Enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program and equipment orientations.
  • Promotes program offerings and conducts outreach activities to increase participation.
  • Maintains participant files and database.
  • Serves as the contact and resource support for parents and families.
  • Primarily works with all off-site facilities and vendors.
  • Performs facility maintenance responsibilities; ensures facility and equipment and are stocked at all times.
  • Maintain program calendar for off-site activity including scheduling all classes, meetings, setting up conference calls, etc.
  • May be asked to prepare presentations and project related presentations; taking minutes of meetings for distribution to management and other constituents as required.
  • Establishes accessible and supportive relationships with parents, vendors, partners, and participating organizations.
  • Assists with program events planning as necessary and assists with mass electronic and print mailings as required. Back up team member as necessary.
  • Facilitates meeting room set-up/ break-down and orders supplies, or food/beverage/condiments as required.
  • Collects and inputs data in the CATS database.
  • Ensures personal and facility appearance meet standards for scheduled activities.
  • Projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Physical Fitness or Exercise Science  or similar field of study and 1+ years related industry experience required. Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications are required. Preferred: Experience teaching group exercise classes is a plus. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.   Experience working with diverse populations as well as “high-risk” youth and families. Work with others on a program team as well as independently. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Excellent organizational, computer technology and time management skills. Skills in coordinating activities, evaluating data and establishing priorities. Able to attend all mandatory training and staff meetings. Must have access to reliable transportation.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, clients, customers, and the general public. Bi-lingual is an added plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet; Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Spreadsheet, Presentation, relational database and Word Processing software.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness to participate in evening and weekend activities.
  • Frequent local travel required. Must have reliable transportation.
