TITLE: Raw Material Planner
DUTIES:
Develop the Material Planning function and maintain responsibility for inventory levels to achieve forecasted turn rates and schedule requirements while minimizing obsolescence.
Minimize expediting time and freight costs for inventory issues, if expedite is necessary, coordinate movements and approvals. Ensure an uninterrupted supply of material to various locations. Work with Accounts Payable on invoicing issues as applicable. Work closely with internal and external suppliers, base rate their performance and apply measures to improve supplier performance to ensure On-Time, In-Full (OTIF). Proactively set measures to meet 97.5% OTIF to customers while adhering to business inventory targets. Effectively leverage business tools and perform necessary analytics to ensure the optimal amount of inventory is on hand, on order and at our inventory locations. Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, challenges and resolution. Review MRP shortages and replenishment reports. Raise Purchase Requisition to Purchasing to ensure availability of raw materials to support production schedules and customer orders. Proactively balance on raw materials demand and supply by rescheduling open releases and acting on MRP messages. Identify short-term raw materials usage abnormalities, identifying root causes and proposing solutions for improvement. Provide tactical and strategic support on raw materials for day-to-day business activities. Address immediate shortage not covered by routine replenishments, highlight potential raw materials shortfalls, and work on contingency plans to meet all production schedules. Review raw materials safety stock setting to maintain at an optimum inventory level to achieve DOH, avoid stock out and minimize slow moving and obsolescence. Coordinate material ramp up/down as necessary to minimize obsolescence expense. Monitor logistics performance, of materials domestic and International. Maintain documents and be prepared for internal and external audits. Perform material Planning. Utilize MRP accuracy, forecasting, and demand planning. Work with Technical Planning Procedures. Maintain SAP/ERP data integrity. Utilize SAP and ERP systems. Verify bill of materials. Perform vendor, scorecard, project and inventory management. Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Analyze data for internal and external goods movement. Continuously improve processes and work instructions. Complete level load and coordinate logistical deliveries. Align priorities with internal and external Teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in International Business or related; and 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related manufacturing occupation working with production/manufacturing planning materials. Must include 7 years of experience in each of the following: Performing material Planning; Utilizing MRP accuracy, forecasting, and demand planning; Working with Technical Planning Procedures; Maintaining SAP/ERP data integrity; Utilizing SAP and ERP systems; Verifying bill of materials; Performing vendor, scorecard, project and inventory management; Utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Analyzing data for internal and external goods movement; Continuously improving processes and work instructions; Completing level load and coordinating logistical deliveries; and Aligning priorities with internal and external Teams
