What You'll Do (Day to Day Job Duties)

This is dual role for an Accountant and Customer Service Representative. 

Altus Spine is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and collaborative Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to support our growing finance operations. In this key role, you’ll help drive financial accuracy and operational excellence for a leading innovator in spinal implant technology. You’ll handle a wide range of transactional accounting tasks—accounts payable and receivable, general bookkeeping, sales order processing, and general ledger entries—while working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners across multiple entities in our portfolio.

• Assist with obtaining purchase orders and securing hospital pricing and approvals as needed for order processing and billing.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance and field representatives to address and resolve customer inquiries.
• Work closely with Engineering and Purchasing teams to create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for surgical sets.
• Maintain daily, direct communication with customers and sales representatives regarding product shortages and available options, and relay updates in real time to the Purchasing department.
• Act as a liaison between distributors, hospital staff, and internal teams to resolve any pertinent issues promptly and professionally.

Your Impact (CORE Responsibilities)

• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections support.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reconciling discrepancies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to ensure accuracy of financial data and support broader business needs.
• Identify and contribute to process improvements within the accounting workflow and ERP systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
• Enter sales and purchase orders promptly, manage order confirmations, and monitor back orders daily to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, basic reporting)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop Solutions) and/or in the medical device industry is a plus

• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with a practical, common-sense approach to decision-making
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
