Vanpool Intern

We are looking for a customer-oriented and energetic Vanpool Intern to join our Vanpool team. The selected candidate will work part-time hours to be determined, anytime between Monday – Friday from 10am to 7pm.  

As an Intern serving in the Vanpool division, you will serve as a liaison between the Maintenance Department and Vanpool customers, coordinating and tracking vehicle maintenance, pickup and drop-off. You will monitor the status of van maintenance, assist with outreach tasks, and attend events. 

Position Duties

As a Vanpool Intern, you will: 

  • Respond to Vanpool inquiries.
  • Assist Vanpool Coordinators with the regional rideshare program.
  • Answer emails and phone calls from customers.
  • Enter data and track ride-match results.
  • Attend public events. 
  • Answer preventative maintenance questions.
  • Develop and maintain customer records.
  • Monitor the status of vanpool vehicle maintenance.
  • Safely drive various types of agency vehicles. 
  • Track community van vehicle maintenance and availability. 

Minimum Qualifications

Are you the one we are looking for? 

  • You have an Associate’s Degree in related field and three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • You have exceptional customer service and public relations skills that reflect courtesy and respect, while maintaining a positive attitude, sense of humor and contributing to a diverse team environment.
  • You are proficient in the use of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.); and have the ability to quickly adapt to unfamiliar software programs.
  • You have strong organizational skills including prioritizing, ensuring accuracy, multi-tasking and handling interruptions appropriately; ensuring assignments are completed in a timely and effective manner.
  • You must be willing to submit to a criminal background investigation, the results of which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria.
  • You must be able to obtain a Washington State Driver’s License. 
  • You have a proven track record of reliability including work attendance and timeliness.
