The Escrow Operations Business Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Escrow Operations leadership team with controls of core functions for the Escrow Operations team within the Mortgage Servicing department. This position is responsible for assisting with the reconciling of reports and data received from key tier one vendors supporting Escrow Operations and helping to provide oversight into the overall vendor metrics and performance. The Escrow Business Coordinator will also assist with the updating of job aids and coordinating training efforts for the team with leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with a deep understanding of escrow operations within a mortgage servicing environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:- Coordinate and monitor day-to-day escrow activities including tax, insurance, and escrow analysis cycles through various reports created internally as well as through the key Escrow Operations vendors.
- Responsible for monitoring and reconciling tax penalty fees and tracking any issues and reporting up to leadership monthly
- Creating and reporting on business controls for vendor and internal teams
- Collecting data on scorecards for the key vendors and reporting on the overall performance to the leadership team
- Ensure escrow processes adhere to investor guidelines, RESPA, CFPB, and state-specific regulations and help leadership in updating support materials to remain current on changes.
- Assist with onboarding and oversight of escrow vendors, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
- Support business process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions and working with leadership on implementation plans.
- Create and maintain process documentation, procedures, and job aids for the escrow team as needed.
- Provide support during audits, exams, and quality control reviews by gathering documentation and explaining escrow-related processes.
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, with at least 2 years in escrow operations.
• Prior experience working with escrow platforms (e.g., MSP/Black Knight, FiServ, Sagent, etc.)
Nice To Have Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of escrow processes (tax, insurance, analysis, pmi) and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
