POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Applications Support Specialist is critical in ensuring that business applications effectively support the organization's operations and that end users can utilize these applications to their fullest potential. They will conduct system reviews and analysis with end users in the organization on how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively. This leads to the development of solutions that will improve efficiency, remove barriers and help staff reach business objectives. The specialist needs to be adept at analyzing requirements to arrive at a desired outcome, determine critical path, and create a plan to utilize existing or new tools to achieve project success.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning:

  • Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new or existing applications, systems, or processes.
  • Meet with decision-makers, systems owners, stakeholders, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals.

Operational Management:

  • Troubleshoot applications for all internal customers, including operations, strategic development, and other business units.
  • Assist in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house software applications, related training programs and courseware.
  • Assist in the integration and interoperability of business systems and processes, including 3rd party integrations
  • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into potential solutions and communicate these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Assist in the management and oversight of practice management software.
  • Evaluate the technical impact of changes proposed by other departments
  • Provide resources for the support of practice management applications
  • Assist in support of various practice systems.
  • Assist with management of software system conversion including data conversion and data migrations from one practice system to another.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in application support or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software applications and their role in business processes.
  • Ability to apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help the business make good technological decisions. 
  • Strong communication skills, including listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication, to interact with vendors, end users or technical staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
  • Knowledge and use of change management methodologies.
  • In-depth, hands-on knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications, including:
  • Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Microsoft Power Automate
  • Monday.com
  • Microsoft Power BI

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Informatics, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):

  • Physical Activity: Talking, walking, hearing, repetitive motion.
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Travel could be required for this position and requires a valid driver’s license.
