The Business Development Specialist at KNR creates and builds business relationships on behalf of the Firm, throughout Ohio to fit the need of Firm clients. The incumbent will connect with existing and potential business contacts to establish new relationships and maintain existing relationships. The Business Development Specialist will also act as a liaison between KNR staff and outside businesses. The individual in this position cultivates, develops, and maintains relationships with a wide variety of contacts.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be a strategic thinker, a self-starter and someone comfortable in a highly entrepreneurial role.
  • Take over the existing relationship management within the state, and focus on establishing new opportunities.
  • Implement past inside sales, business development, referral sales, healthcare and account management experience.
  • Identify call points and build strong relationships with outside businesses to facilitate client needs.
  • Effectively address internal and external constituent needs, independently or in collaboration with the KNR team.
  • Travel required at minimum 75% of the time for critical meetings and quarterly business reviews, presentations, etc.
  • Successfully builds trust and rapport with new and established relationships.
  • Assists with determining outside business needs and devising solutions.
  • Supports the success of comprehensive business development programs.
  • Delivers clear, consistent, and compelling messages.
  • Manages daily marketing/development reports and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Communicates timely and effectively throughout the development process.
  • Advances, develops, cultivates, and maintains relationships with a variety of local and regional businesses.
  • Assists Director of Operations working with senior management and employees to develop and maintain a strategic perspective, based on the market, and client needs and satisfaction.
  • Provides advice and feedback on business development, communications, and market opportunities.
  • Monitors competitive activity and reports changes.
  • Assists with initiating a responsive marketing and development campaign, as needed.
  • Finds ways to promote the firm brand, expand the market, acquire new business and generate awareness.

  • Minimum three years sales and/or marketing experience preferred
  • Regular statewide travel is required, including overnight
  • Self-starter with strong prospecting and closing skills
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Territory management experience and market knowledge is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create a detailed sales plan and meet deadlines
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Works well with outside business professionals, vendors, clients and employees
  • Complies with all Standards of Behavior
  • Follows HIPAA, OSHA and Compliance Plan regulations
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ progressive experience preferred in law and/or healthcare, such as, 1) business development, 2) marketing/development, 3) communications; with demonstrated success
  • Driver License and a clean driving record
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in law, business, healthcare, or marketing

  • Understands and effectively communicates legal and healthcare processes and services
