SUMMARY:

Inside Sales Representatives are responsible for outstanding sales and service support for our current customers and our territory management team in a fast paced environment. Our Inside Sales staff handles a high volume of product sales, price quotes, order entry and delivery scheduling, customer follow-up and related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-year of inside sales or related industry training and experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Good basic math skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Greets customers in person and on the phone in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provides customers with current product information, along with current specials and promotions. Provides the customer with information on differences between the products we offer.
  • Identifies and sells the customer on additional accessories and other products related to their order.
  • Provides quotations to customer.
  • Follows up with customers for potential orders.
  • Takes and enters orders into the ERP system.
  • Purchases special order products for customers directly through the vendor; and follows up with customers and vendors as needed.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Processes cash and credit card sales transactions.
  • Processes purchase orders and receiving paperwork.
  • Schedules orders for delivery with dispatcher and/or Distribution Center.
  • Provides accurate customer information to Accountants.
  • Obtains manager approval on pricing issues with customers.
  • Processes customer product returns and credits.
  • Provides customer prospecting support to Territory Managers.
  • Processes back orders.
  • Assists in inventory control. Runs inventory reports. Compares inventory reports to invoices.
  • Coordinates special orders through Purchasing Department.
  • Coordinates intercompany transfers with Distribution Center.
  • Organizes showroom literature, samples and displays.
  • Undergoes frequent training on products, sales techniques, and other job related topics.
  • Maintains customer files. Staple, collates and files paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

DRUG TESTING REQUIREMENT:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

One year of related experience and/or training preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and other employees.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as job specifications and product manuals.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with or without the use of a calculator.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is also required to frequently use a computer, keyboard & mouse; phone; a printer/fax/scanner/copier; additional office equipment; and filing cabinets. The employee is occasionally required to climb up and down stairs; occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs; and frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS:

Knowledge of roofing, siding and millwork is preferred.

Basic Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook computer skills is preferred.

TRAVEL:

This position requires minimal travel to training events, customer events, and trade shows, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside a heated and air conditioned sales office building. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to low.
