Job Summary

Dorman is seeking a Production Supervisor to join out team in our 100k sq ft manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach. As a Production Supevisor for Dorman, you will coordinate and oversee all production activities to ensure that customer commitments are met with quality and on-time delivery. This role is onsite Monday through Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM. 

Primary Duties

  • Review daily production schedule and ensure demands are met through proper scheduling of work.
  • Daily review/reporting of labor assignments/efficiency tracking.
  • Provide leadership, communication and expectations for employees. 
  • Ensure employees are trained and have appropriate tools to perform job.
  • Periodically review the work of employees to ensure adherence to quality standards and work instructions. 
  • Stop production if necessary for safety or quality reasons.
  • Evaluate employee performance to achieve a high level of output, write performance reviews and corrective actions.  
  • Ensure employees are aware of and provided with proper protective equipment and trained on chemical use and emergency exits in the department.
  • Reviews data and trends on production and recommend continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices. 
  • Contact OES/Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.
  • Prepare and enter data into and review information in CMS, Ceridian Dayforce, and Training Manager.
  • Participate in recruitment activities by interviewing and selecting staff.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties that may be outside of assigned priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Advanced education desired but not required.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Strong communication and reasoning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Broad knowledge of quality control and production methods.
  • Microsoft Office and ERP experience.

Education / Experience

  • Three years leadership experience in manufacturing environment preferred
